Survey of Student Retention

Please complete the survey a few posts down on student retention. It has the RDC logo on it. I (me and the committee I'm on) really need all of your input to try to make things better for all students present and future. And I'll give you an extra few % on your Mid-Term if you complete the survey!!

Thanks,

Brad

Video Game Questions

Please post your findings to your blog by Noon on Thursday, Feb 23rd. Can you also add a comment for this posting and copy and paste your answers to the questions in the comment box. I've left an example in the comment box.

The answers for questions 1 & 2 don't have to be too long. A sentence or two will be fine!

1. When I play video games I feel...

2. Why do you play video games?

3. Do you think that video games help you learn things? Yes or No

SDL Guiding Questions

Self-Directed Learning
1). What is the Self-Directed Learning as you see it?
2). How effective is it as a learning strategy compared to teacher-directed instruction?
3). Where do you see its most practical curriculum application? Math, Science, Language Arts, Social Studies or other?? Why?
4). What level of education do you see this type of learning most appropriate?  Lower elementary, upper elementary, junior high, middle school, high school, adult? Why?
5). Does technology lend itself to the use of the Self-Directed Learning?  Yes or No and how or why?
6). Can any learner use this approach, or would it be more suitable for a specific type of learner?

Okay here is the hard part. You must answer all of these questions using NO more than 500 words and I'd like you to post a picture of someone doing something that you would classify as Self-Directed Learning below your text but in the same posting.

This is due next Thursday, Jan. 26th!
